Beth lives and works across the prairies and we are very happy to have her coordinate the 2024 Concert Series and community programming. Welcome (back), Beth!!
About Beth Curry
Beth Curry’s first experiences of the Regina Folk Festival were as a babe-in-arms. The Victoria Park moments that followed included a childhood of facepaint and sing-alongs, teenage years of volunteering on the Environment crew, followed by a novice attempt at coordinating Box Office, serving on the board of directors, hitting her stride as a Site Manager and performing with Belle Plaine. Her experiences at the RFF launched her into the music community writ large – as a tour and production manager, artist representative, and musician. Her career has had a unique trajectory that includes completing a Masters in Interactive Media and Performance (with research centred on CBC Radio 3), playing double bass with the Regina Symphony Orchestra, assisting with tours in and outside of Canada and teaching in the Creative Technologies program at the University of Regina. In the grand tradition of intergenerational family experiences at RFF, Beth has now had the great pleasure of experiencing the festival with her own babe-in-arms LeGuin (who is now facepaint and sing-along ready). Beth is excited to be part of this transformative time for the RFF and to contribute to the beautiful connections and spirit of resistance that brings festivals past into festivals future.
