ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Marshall Burns
Marshall is a co-founder of the Juno-nominated indie-rock group Rah Rah and has attended the Regina Folk Fest as a fan or performer nearly every year since childhood. Marshall has recently released his second solo album titled “I Love My Friends" and has recently toured and recorded with Wolf Willow and Christopher Sleightholm among others.
Kyrie Kristmanson
Kyrie Kristmanson’s direct yet otherworldly style seems like folk music from some isolated mountain or urban canyon. It will take you places you've never been." – Robert Everett Green, The Globe & Mail
Regina native Kyrie Kristmanson is back in town for an intimate show. An original member of the beloved indie-rock band Rah Rah, Kyrie relocated to Paris in 2010 for the release of her album Origin of Stars on Universal France. She subsequently enrolled at La Sorbonne where she embarked on a reconstruction of the lost repertoire of the 12th century women troubadours. Since then she has been pursuing her path as a singer-songwriter mostly in Europe and especially France where she was recently awarded the Order of Arts and Letters. Infused by the folk traditions of Canada and the medieval songwriting culture, Kyrie’s compositions create a chamber music that sounds like a dialogue between worlds: an interstice where past and present combine to create a living vestige of a bygone time, half remembered and half dreamed.
She'll be performing songs spanning from her time growing up on the prairies to her most recent song cycle Floralia.
Erin Passmore
Erin released a solo album, the Downtown EP, in 2012. Post Rah Rah, she's helped out numerous musical pals both in Vancouver and Regina who needed a backing vocal or two.
She relocated back to Sask from BC in late 2022 and has since spent her time trying to keep up with her toddlers. Any remaining energy (if any) is put into her creative endeavors - be it music, visual art or helping other creatives in the community. Erin is extremely excited to be sharing the stage with her old pals, Marshall and Kyrie.
