On March 30, 2021, we made a commitment to contribute to a safer music community in Saskatchewan and beyond, saying: “the Regina Folk Festival wants to help build an industry that does not tolerate harassment of any kind and supports positive music and art spaces for people to participate in as their true, whole selves”. Informed by our values, we are committed to this work and can assure you that our staff and board of directors take this commitment seriously. While the issues in our industry are urgent, we need time to ensure confidence in our ability to stand behind the promises we make to our community of patrons, staff, volunteers, and artists. As such, we need to focus on our internal capacity before looking outward.

Jan 7, 2022 update: We continue to work towards our goal of a safer music community. This work is being completed through committees and strategic planning. We will continue to provide more detailed updates on our progress throughout the year.

In the meantime, if you have feedback on how we can work towards positive spaces where all people feel welcome, we’d love to hear from you. You can contact Executive Director Josh Haugerud at josh@reginafolkfestival.com
