Merv xx Gotti

Merv xx Gotti is the multi-genre artist and vocalist behind hip-hop/R&B duo, Samurai Champs, and indie-emo band, GHOSTFORM. He is also the Artistic Director of Canadian DJ & artist collective, Trifecta Sound Co.  

His most recent focus is “Guitar Songs”, his solo, singer-songwriter project. 
 
With Samurai Champs, he has toured internationally, having performed in festivals such as SXSW (US), Music Matters Live (Singapore), NXNE (Canada), The Great Escape (UK), Reeperbahn (Germany), Tallinn Music Week (Estonia), and more. Samurai Champs has also been featured on CBC, Exclaim!, VICE Noisey, recipient of SMA’s Hip Hop Artist of the Year, and nominated for multiple WCMA’s as R&B Artist of the Year. 

As Artistic Director of Trifecta Sound Co., his work in community building has been recognized by CBC’s Future 40, TD Bank’s Creative Entrepreneurship Incubator, and the Congress of Humanities and Social Sciences. 

With “Guitar Songs”, he explores a more minimal sound, focusing on androgynous, soothing vocals to accompany direct, sincere songwriting. A full length release for “Guitar Songs” is scheduled for 2024.
