Devin's Playlist Playground: Music For Everything
My wife has been the Production Manager for the past 10 years at RFF. I went from not knowing anything about the RFF to one of its biggest fans.
I have music playing in everything I do. Working, driving, gym, home.
"Firebird" by Milky Chance
Reason: They played in Saskatoon a couple years back and was easily one of the best shows I’ve been to. Maybe it was the dancing vibe, maybe it was just being happy the white-knuckled sask winter drive up was over, but that show just made you feel good!
"Out of my Head" by Begonia
Reason: You don’t watch Begonia play a show, you feel it. I’ve been lucky enough to see her play 5 times in the last 6 years and I’d go again tomorrow if I could. Plus she’s super-nice, taking the time to chat with my daughter at the RFF a few years ago. I’m also a proud owner of a Begonia sweatshirt
"Road Warrior" by Allan Rayman
Reason: I stumbled upon him on CBC Afterdark. Ever since he’s become a staple in my music library, even using his playlist to put my kids to bed each night (earning me top 1% Fan on Spotify). He’s on my wish list every year for RFF
"Let The Drummer Kick" by Citizen Cope
Reason: Fell in love listening to Cope doing hail claims in Alberta as a summer student. He’s been on my wish list forever too.
"The Carny" by William Prince
Reason: He’s the gentle giant. Like Begonia you feel the stories he tells. I find him very calming at the end of a busy day.
"Grace, Too" by The Tragically Hip
Reason: Because Canadiana. Gord’s emotion in this song on their last show in Kingston is a feeling you never forget.
