A conversation with DijahSB + People of the Sun

Toronto-based rapper with bars referred to as “tasty” by Kid Cudi , DijahSB makes navigating synth loops, booming bass claps, and smoothed out production look easy. The rapper effortlessly glides across these soundscapes with lyrics that are as earnest and personal as they are agile and quick-witted. Inspirational without being preachy, their music is a raw look into the mind of a Black non-binary artist rapping their way through hope, heartbreak, and breakthroughs.

People of the Sun is an 8-person live hip-hop/R&B band; a project born amidst the social unrest of COVID-19, BLM, and the discovery of Residential school grave sites across Canada.  The purpose of this SK-based collective is to display unity through art. The vision of the band is to have eight people of different cultural backgrounds make impactful hip hop and funk music, but to also be an example of inclusion and reconciliation in and for our community, featuring artists of different ages, genders, and faiths.
