The Steves

The Steves are a rock band from Regina, SK. They sound like you’re playing your favourite power-pop LP at the wrong speed and take cues from Jay Reatard and The Modern Lovers.  

Since 2015 they’ve toured across Canada and have put out a handful of singles and two EPs, 2015’s No Solos and 2017’s Weak Man. Their third EP, To the Band, was recorded and mixed in various Regina character homes by drummer Paula Bogdan between 2019 and 2022 and was mastered by Juno-nominated producer/engineer Orion Paradis at SoulSound Studio. 

To the Band is their longest release to date (16 minutes) and focuses on much of the quintessence of living in Canada’s largest small town—waiting in line at the overhyped ice cream shop (to prove a point), being snubbed by a friend (of a friend of a friend who only met you once), and having your friends move away to the big city (Saskatoon). The EP’s preceding singles, “Texas” as well as the title-track, “To the Band,” will be available on streaming services March 1, and the full EP will be released March 23 on Grind Central Records.
