Beau Nectar
Beau Nectar c’est la collaboration entre deux auteures-compositrices interprètes bilingues séparées par des kilomètres de forêts, de cours d’eau, de montagnes et de prairies. Marie-Clo, (franco-ontarienne, algonquienne), et éemi (fransaskoise) livrent une pop électronique intimiste, vibrante et surréaliste aux paroles écoféministes qui suscitent l’empathie de leurs fans envers la nature. Elles ont signé récemment avec Indica Records et ont lancé leur premier single ‘Soleil des loups’ le 9 février 2023.
Beau Nectar is a collaboration between two bilingual singer-songwriters separated by kilometers of forests, rivers, mountains and prairies. Marie-Clo (Franco-Ontarian, Algonquin), and éemi (Fransaskoise) deliver intimate, vibrant and surreal synth pop with ecofeminist lyrics that spark their fans' empathy towards nature. The duo recently signed with Indica Records and released their first single ‘Soleil des Loups’ on February 9th, 2023.
Marie-Clo and éemi met in 2017 while competing in the finale for TFO’s Planète BRBR (a televised competition for francophone singer-songwriters outside Québec). This is what gave them the strength to pursue their solo careers independently for a few years, while continuing to fuel the growth of the forest they have planted.
In June 2022, the duo officially becomes Beau Nectar while participating in a show creation residency at the National Arts Center with known Québec artist Caracol. Since then, they participated in a market adaptation residency with Christian Bordarier in the south of France; presented several major showcases at Festival Crossroads in Roubaix, France, Breakout West in Calgary, FME in Rouyn-Noranda and Phoque OFF in Quebec; participated in the Musicians in Residence program at the Banff Center for the Arts; and opened for Pierre Kwenders in Saskatoon. They are very excited to see what’s ahead!
Their forest is dense and wild. With the support of MusicAction, CAC, OAC, OMIC and Creative Sask, Beau Nectar enters a symbiotic relationship. Their songs personify flora and fauna, draw inspiration from modern science, and showcase co-evolution; their friendship.
