Established in 2017, Girls Rock Regina (GRR) came together to empower female, trans and non-binary youth to create and perform music. Based on a tried and true rock camp model, campers learn an instrument, form a band, write and record an original song and perform at a live music venue. In addition to music, campers also learn about social justice, art, gender in music and much more. GRR values diversity and strives to provide female, trans and non-binary mentors and leadership whenever possible.GRR is a week-long camp where kids learn an instrument, form a band, write an original song, and perform a concert at a live music venue. In addition to rocking out, campers take part in a number of workshops centered on creativity and confidence-building, such as songwriting, image & identity, self-defense, zine-making and more. No musical experience required!
